CTE in NSERVE High Schools

NSERVE manages grants received through the Illinois State Board of Education for a variety of Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses in high schools.

These experiential classes give students an opportunity to gain real-world experience in a career pathway that interests them.

Many high school courses also qualify for dual credit with Oakton College.

This college-level credit sets students up for their post-secondary studies and may be transferable to other colleges.

Click here for more information on the Oakton website.

See below some of the CTE programs in the NSERVE region high schools.

Hospitality & Tourism

Courses in Culinary Arts, Entrepreneurship, and Hospitality are offered in many NSERVE area schools. Students can earn a ServSafe Certification which is a key requirement for working in the hospitality/tourism industry.
